Just because at times, I can’t help thinking (in totally un-biased way) that these 2 boys are absolutely gorgeous and that one day, when they think that we are the most useless parents on earth, I’d like them to remember that if they look like this and get lots of girls begging for them to love them, it is thanks to us!
Here is the deal, Dulux has offered to send to 5 of you the paint you need to redecorate your room, but you can’t have it for nothing! You need to show photos of that room and prove that really, you can’t live with something looking THIS BAD!

Who would have thought that a blanket made of bamboo could be so soft? A while back I was given the opportunity to try one, the Baby Royal Blanket, and at the first touch I was amazed. I could have easily wrapped myself in it and forget about the rest of the world…
So why use bamboo to make blankets? There are many reasons but the main ones are that:
it is fully regenerative (it doesn’t need replanting as it is only trimmed not cut)
ecologically friendly (no pesticides are needed due to its naturally occurring anti bacterial properties)
it is also hypo-allergenic and three times more absorbent than cotton!

They retail at £47 each and if the price seems a bit high for a baby blanket I have to say that it is worth every penny. I would personally categorise it as a baby gift, as I would find the price a bit high for a personal purchase, especially when there is so much to purchase with a new baby. But as part of a baby list or birth gift it is ideal. The quality is undeniable, and I am sure that it is a product made to last, so you can’t go wrong.
Baby Royale is still a young company but with a great future ahead, no doubt about that. They specialise in luxury baby blankets and their product is already retailed at several baby boutiques. Not only this but they are in advanced discussions with Fortnum and Mason interested in retailing the baby blanket!

Last Thursday and like every Thursday morning, I get some respite from the madness and chaos, while others are in charge of the boys. I usually spends these few hours working, cleaning and sometime if I am lucky I do something I really like.
Thursday was not a great day. I was feeling pretty overwhelmed with lots of things going on. You know things you can’t control but people expect you to. Things that mount one on top of each other until you can’t even see where you are heading.
So this Thursday was a working day for me and I was working from my Thursday “office”: Cafe Nero. It is great they always have cakes, good coffees, but lack considerably of plugs, so I can’t always plug my laptop which in the long run might mean that I have to relocate to Slug and Lettuce, more spacious, less people, not such good coffee but more plugs!
Anyway, I was sitting there trying to concentrate but all I could think of was how much I wanted to hug and kiss my gorgeous boys. I was down and unhappy, yet all I wanted was to be with them. The thought of their little hands inside of mine, a laugh that we had shared that morning and the smell and softness of their gorgeous hair was all I needed and wanted there and then.
It is funny how the most simple things are the best in life. There is so much clutter in our life with all the practical things we have to deal with everyday, but the smile of your child and knowing that he is happy and healthy is all you need to be happy yourself and stay grounded.
Motherhood is this to me. No matter what you have to do, no matter how it seems urgent and important, if your babies need you, you drop everything to be there for them. This is exactly what happened this Saturday when they both came down with a bug and all they wanted was cuddle mummy and that’s what we did…

So I scratched my head a little, started this post many times and in many different directions and this is when I realised that actually, it is not just one woman that has inspired me throughout my life but many.
I have been blessed to meet many wonderful women along the way and they all carried with them a piece of their identity that I loved and admired. Whenever I lose myself, I remind myself of all these wonderful gifts they gave me simply by coming into my life in the shape of a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a best friend or a stranger met briefly.
If I had to merge them all into one then I present you with the most inspiring real woman for me:
She oozes with confidence and the minute she walks into the room no eyes can resist turning in her direction.
She is beautiful, no matter what size of trousers she wears and her shape. She loves what she looks at in the mirror, she is graceful and natural.
She can leave the house in the morning with no makeup on and not worry about it, but a bit of time spent in the bathroom and boy she comes out shining like a star.
She has stretch marks but she has learnt to love them for being the reminder of how wonderful it is to be a mum.
She looks into the future for all it has to offer, only keeps the best of the past and lives for today.
She is gentle, caring, patient and generous.
She makes you laugh when you need it the most and she is the shoulder you cry on when you are down.
She is a fighter. Nothing defeats her and especially if it means fighting for the ones she loves.
She is daring and will push doors until they open.
She loves and lives life.
She is a a loving mother, a glamorous wife, a caring friend, a stranger who happens to be there when you need it the most.
She is a real inspiring woman to me…

“Happy Anniversary darling” I say to Craig trying to look at him passed the children and teddy bears between us in our bed.
“Euh?!” He looks at me half asleep.
“Happy ANNIVERSARY! Shall I spell it for you? Do you remember four years ago? Apart for the big boozy party you were at, you also exchanged wows with me!”
“What?! Oh My God did I forget?!”
“Well obviously you have…”
I am not sure whether to be mad at him or not. Actually to be entirely fair I almost forgot too and if it wasn’t for the big note on the calendar that says “4th Anniversary!!!!!” I probably would have gone through the day without remembering either.
Is it bad do you think? Is it bad that I am not that worried about forgetting it? It doesn’t mean that I don’t care, of course not. I suppose Craig makes me feel special most days of the year so I really don’t feel I need to celebrate the special day we got married every year. It doesn’t mean not celebrating it at all.
I love my husband and although we have days when we barely even speak to each other because of all the distractions in our daily life, he is my soul mate and my companion for life. He is my shoulder to cry on and my sharer of big news. He is my coach, motivating me and praising me whenever I need a boost. He is the one I cuddle up to every evening and the reason I fall asleep peacefully every night.
So happy anniversary my darling, I love you bigger than this!
BUT YOU BETTER REMEMBER NEXT YEAR!!
